Exhibit: Through May 14: Continuing the Tradition: Mexican AmAmerican Folk Art
From piñatas to tortillas, Mexican Americans have enhanced the culture of the United States with a rich heritage and tradition. Learn about Mexican American traditions, folk art, and customs in Kansas through this exhibit presented by the Kansas Historical Society. Also on display are artifacts from Mexico loaned by the local community. Help celebrate Cinco de Mayo in McPherson!

Exhibit Opening: May 24 – September 3: Fossils from the Rancho la Brea
“T Tar Pits
Mc McPherson College’s first graduate, James Zacchaeus Gilbert, was the first to operate large-scale collecting in the famed fossil locality known as the “Tar Pits.” He donated several fossils from this locality to the college including the skeletons of a dire wolf, saber-tooth cat, giant ground sloth (one of only six mounted skeletons from la Brea), as well as numerous other bones form animals and birds. Learn about these unique fossil treasures that were rescued from the sticky, tarry, goo by Dr. Gilbert and his students and find out how they came to rest in a small town in the Midwest.
June & June: Summer Music Series will feature three live musical performances of various styles by the McPherson Community Band each month at the Lakeside Park Band shell. Admission by donation. All donations contribute to the support of the operations of the McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation.

Sat Saturday, October 22, 6p.m.: A Night at the Museum: Nationally known magician Eric Vaughan, casual dinner and a mystery to solve inside the Museum! Solve it and win the grand prize! Family-friendly eve event. Pre-purchased tickets or tickets at the door. All ticket sales contribute to the support of the operations of the McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation.

Sat Saturday, October 29: Tombstone Talks, 6p.m. is a walkabout tour of the
Ce McPherson cemetery, with stops at various graves to discuss their inhabitants. All tic ticket sales contribute to the support of the operations of the McPherson seu Museum & Arts Foundation.

Saturday, December 3, 2-4 p.m.: Christmas Tour of Homes & Open House: tour ho homes and stop by the Museum for refreshments. All ticket sales contribute to the sup support of the operations of the McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation.
SunSunday, December 11: members-only Christmas Open House: refreshments, the 1921920s home decked out for the holidays, and a prize-drawing game at the Museum’s FielFields House.
