Mac Writers writing group is sponsored by the McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation as an avenue to support the arts and culture within the area. The group meets monthly and hosts annual and other events.

The Group: Mac Writers is for anyone who has an interest in writing and willingness to listen critically and supportively to other writers at various levels in their writing journeys. It is neither just for amateurs nor just for professionals.

Writers bring drafts or finished works of poetry, short stories, or sections of longer works for reading and discussion. Works can be of any type, fiction or non-fiction. Sometimes a writer will attend with nothing but a desire to become inspired and to help his fellow writer.

WordFest Writers' Conference: Mac Writers hosts an annual writing conference, WordFest, first held in 2009.  The third annual conference will be held April 8 & 9 in 2011. Please check the WordFest page for details.

Student Writing Contest: 2010 will be the first year for a judged writing contest in the McPherson school district. Please check back for more details.
