“The Roar of the Lion: A Look at the MGM Lion in the McPherson Museum”

The McPherson County Historical Society will meet:
Saturday, March 3rd @ 2 p.m.
McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation

One of the most classic advertising icons, the MGM lion logo has been the opening credit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movies for close to one hundred years. One of the lions used as a mascot is supposedly housed in the McPherson Museum. Come hear about the history of the MGM lion, the ties to McPherson, and what we now know about this famous museum artifact.

Presented by Brett Whitenack – McPherson Museum Curator

All historical society programs are open to the public and are free of charge.

I am quite interested to perhaps help solve this “mystery” but, unfortunately, did not have opportunity to attend this particular event/lecture. (As a fan of classic -and- modern-day movies in general [in addition to the fact of myself being ‘alumni’ of McPherson College], I feel it_important that the shroud of this mystery be unraveled by someone living in McPherson once and for all)!

*If the Museum/general public could provide updates or potential leads, I would be highly interested to understand such information Thank you.
